There is good news coming from the recruiting trail. Milwaukee Panther Basketball really got a boost in the signing of 6'5" small forward and Milwaukee native, Michael Tyler. This past season Tyler averaged a double-double with 17.5pts and 11.9rbs as a sophomore at Pratt Community College in Kansas.
Pratt plays in the same conference as Hutchinson Community College which is the former college of highly touted MU guard recruit, Darius Johnson-Odom. Both Johnson-Odom and Tyler were first team all-conference. So that is to say that while junior college and Division I-A Hoops are worlds apart, Tyler's numbers are worth at least considering giving some modest appreciation.
Tyler will be a welcomed addition to the Panthers. He has two years of eligibility left and it seems the team is hoping for him to come in and make an immediate impact in the front court. Should he be able to make the D-I transition and come close to replicating the kind of success he had in junior college, he could become a huge asset for the steadily rising Milwaukee program these next two seasons. Welcome aboard Mr. Tyler. Glad to have you with us.
