Queens guard AJ McKee signs with Milwaukee, no word yet on Freeman

AJ McKee is coming to Milwaukee to shore up our PG gaps

The junior from Charlotte, North Carolina is reuniting with his former Queens Coach who left that job to become the head guy here in Milwaukee starting with the '22-'23 season.

So far, Lundy has taken Milwaukee to the HLT Semifinal and Championship games in his first two seasons with the Horizon League final defeat coming this '23-'24 season to Oakland who went on to shock Kentucky in the first round of the 2024 Big Dance.

McKee has led Queens and played extensively at the guard position these past two seasons.

Very good numbers for McKee in these past two seasons at Queens

Milwaukee still awaits word on star BJ Freeman who averaged 21ppg in this, his best collegiate season yet despite missing several early-season games due to back spasms. Freeman went on a rampage at the end of this season, scoring 20+ points in 10 consecutive games.

Many Panther fans are not expecting Freeman to stay in Milwaukee and to opt for NIL money or greener pastures at a P5 school, but this fan is hoping against hope that he stays here in Milwaukee- and in the Horizon League (he could very well be POY in '24-'25).

This is a great mock-up design from a Panther fan; maybe it is time to paint Kilbourne Ave. Black and Gold?

To gain a missing piece in the backcourt and then lose such a liminal talent as BJ Freeman would be a crushing blow to a Milwaukee Panther program on the rise and with the next Big Dance squarely in its sights.

But Freeman is "liminal" or "on the threshold" of the national limelight only for now. Before the week is up he may be a Marquette Golden Eagle or Auburn Tiger. And the future will determine whether he does go, and whether or not- how far he goes with the team he stakes the final step in his collegiate career with.

So we welcome AJ McKee. And we wait.

go panthers.
